Hello, wonderful readers! I’m still here in sunny Southern California, navigating through what has been a deeply reflective and incredibly full couple of weeks. My mother’s memorial and reception service is today, following her funeral last week. It’s been a period filled with a mix of emotions, and definitely not the way I envisioned this season when I first started my drive home to So Cal. Life often throws us curveballs, especially when we least expect them, and learning to adjust, to find grace in unexpected moments, has been a significant lesson these past few weeks. I promise to share more details and fill you in on everything very soon, but for now, my heart is focused on family.

As the holiday season officially kicks into high gear, my own preparations have taken a backseat. With everything going on, I haven’t even had the chance to buy a single gift or put up any decorations. It’s certainly a different kind of Christmas prep this year! Thankfully, my incredible kids understand completely. They’re wonderfully flexible and, honestly, they’re not quite in the typical holiday ‘hustle’ mindset this year either, which has been a great comfort. This season has reminded us all about what truly matters: connection, love, and being present with each other, rather than the perfect decorations or the biggest pile of presents.
